Fall is right around the corner! Can you feel it? Can you believe it?
I can.
It’s time for summer to take its heat and bugs and hit the bricks. Bring on fall. Glorious, soothing, pumpkin-y fall.
And perhaps most importantly, bring on the fall decor!
This year I find myself with much less time than in years past. My kids are in school which means I am working more, and as much as I want to spend all day decorating (like I did when my kids were little) I just don’t have the time.
A few days ago, while I was playing around with my fall decor I came up with a really pretty centerpiece for our dining table. It was so simple to assemble, but I love the way it turned out!
I especially love this centerpiece because of its low profile. It won’t interfere with conversation across the table and it doesn’t stick out too much as to interfere with place settings.
10 Minute DIY Fall Centerpiece
Here is what you’ll need:
- Long, shallow tray, platter, or bowl
- artificial pumpkins or gourds
- 1-2 packages of artificial acorns
- 5 fall floral stems
Step 1
Arrange the floral stems so they hang over the edge of the platter.
You can see I bent the stems on the middle pieces so they conform the the platter better. There is not adhesive or anything holding them down. I simply laid them in the platter.
Step 2
Lay the pumpkins out across the platter. Try to alternate their direction to give a more natural look.
Step 3
Add the acorns to the platter to fill in any gaps and cover exposed stems.
And now you’re done!
Obviously, this centerpiece can easily be adapted to fit your color scheme and exact platter/bowl/tray. Don’t be afraid to explore various floral stems too. You can have a lot of fun with a simple centerpiece like this one, especially when it only take s few minutes to assemble!
What are your go-to fall decor ideas?

So wonderfully fall! But then where would my kids put all their crayons and MLP coloring books and Pokémon cards?! lol
Too bad I don’t have my OWN table

Ha! I have found that if there isn’t a place for such items, the kids will take them somewhere else. So re-claim the table, friend! I’ll come over and help you!

It looks great! I can’t wait to try it out.
A couple of years ago, I purchased some orange burlap and red burlap ribbon. It is easy to puddle under a centerpiece or drape. I have added pendants to it for a fall banner on my fireplace. It is versatile.

I love burlap! I really don’t care if it’s in style or not, it’s too versatile not to use!
