It is finally time again to put away winter decorations and freshen up our favorite spaces with brighter colors and textures! I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t put my winter decor away fast enough!
It’s not that I don’t like my winter decor – I do. A lot. But this winter has been something of a whip and I’m glad to see it go. Plus, this year’s spring decor trends are SO pretty, especially the this spring’s variety of wreaths and door hanging arrangements.
Once you see them you’ll want to put a wreath on every door of your house!
If you have been on Pinterest (or in public) at all in the last couple of years, you have probably wondered if a single magnolia tree even exists anymore. Thanks to Joanna Gaines, the magnolia wreath has been the Queen of Wreaths for the last several seasons.
She is followed in popularity by the preserved boxwood wreath – the pricey, but classy wreath we all want but we know good and well we can’t keep it alive. Thank goodness for artificial wreaths (although they are still not cheap)!
I don’t know about you, but I am not afraid to admit that I am all magnolia/boxwood wreath-ed out. Don’t get me wrong, they are beautiful, and if you are still digging that trend it’s all good. You do you.
But I want to share some new trends with you that I am really excited about! These spring wreaths are all under $40 which makes the fact that they are gorgeous even better!
4 Spring Door Decorations Under $40
1. The Eucalyptus Wreath
Simple in design, yet full and inviting, the eucalyptus wreath has a light blue-ish/green tint that will brighten up any doorway or living space. This is a safe option for a very traditional look. If you have a bright color or intricate detailing in your front door design, a eucalyptus wreath makes for a great grounding element.
For a pop of color you can add roses or peonies. I got mine at Kirkland’s.
2. The Metal Hoop Floral Wreath
When I first saw this wreath I thought it was too dainty for a front door (or really any space that calls for substantial decor).
I could not have been more wrong! This feminine wreath packs a big punch of color and texture that will liven up your front porch, dining room, living room – wherever you hang this one, it will shine!
The Metal Hoop Wreath is a party waiting to happen on black or stained front doors. If you make your own, you can decide the color scheme and make it work for your front door, regardless of the color!
These are also incredibly easy to make. I made mine for $36 in about 30 minutes with some floral wire and wire cutters.
3. The Lavender Hanging Arrangement
Lavender has gained quite a bit of popularity in recent years both for decor and planting. It makes a subtle statement of class and timelessness.
This hanging arrangement is by far the least expensive on the list. I made this arrangement for $23 with supplies from Hobby Lobby, and added a little bit of burlap ribbon for a pop of visual interest.
There is so much more you can do with this arrangement, however you could easily leave it as is for a simple, yet classy statement.
I used two just two bundles of lavender, a galvanized tin hanging container, and a little bit of burlap ribbon.
4. The Succulent Hanging Arrangement
Succulent arrangements cannot help but draw attention to themselves. They present an understated beauty and are incredibly low maintenance. Especially if you use artificial succulents like I did, because you know what’s lower maintenance than live succulents??
Artificial succulents. That’s my kind of plant management. Truth be told, when I hang decorations on my front door I want to forget about them until it’s time to change them out. I’m not a fan of fussy decor, and this succulent arrangement is anything but fussy.
I made this arrangement for $36 with supplies I bought at Hobby Lobby. It took about 10 minutes to put it together, so you can’t beat that!
If you are anything like me, you know it’s great to have decor options that don’t cost much. I like to change out my decor fairly regularly so the less I spend, the less attached I feel to my stuff. It’s pretty freeing, actually, but that’s a different conversation for a different day.
With so many eye-catching wreaths to choose from, that hardest part will be deciding which one to put on your front door!
What are you hoping to put on your front door this spring?
